Thanksgiving is almost here. This year, I've decided that me and my cousin will have a proper vegetarian Thanksgiving instead of just settling for mashed potatoes and whatever random bits and pieces of food that we can scrounge. So I went to Whole Food Market and bought myself an Un-Turkey ! I actually bought two because I wanted to do a "mock" thanksgiving with Peter. So we cooked up the Un-Turkey with the yummy gravy that it came with, and whipped up a batch of Wasabi Mashed potatoes that were extremely tasty. Yum! Added some Cranberry sauce, and we were all set! So hopefully, my cousin will like the Un-Turkey. It's not quite Turkey, but it's not mush either. It is different from a Tofurky, but I've never eaten one of those, so I can't quite say what the difference is. Although after reading the description of the Tofurky, I am kind of inclined to think that I like the Un-Turkey better. Mock meat foods fascinate me!

So for the past week or so I've been noticing that a lot of people have been listing BBC's top 50 places to see before you die and highlighting the places they've been to. I thought I'd do that as well..
BBC's Top 50
1 The Grand Canyon 2 Great Barrier Reef 3 Florida 4 South Island 5 Cape Town 6 Golden Temple 7 Las Vegas 8 Sydney 9 New York 10 Taj Mahal 11 Canadian Rockies 12 Uluru 13 Chichen Itza - Mexico 14 Machu Picchu - Peru 15 Niagara Falls 16 Petra - Jordan 17 The Pyramids - Egypt 18 Venice 19 Maldives 20 Great Wall of China 21 Victoria Falls - Zimbabwe 22 Hong Kong 23 Yosemite National Park 24 Hawaii 25 Auckland - New Zealand 26 Iguassu Falls 27 Paris 28 Alaska 29 Angkor Wat - Cambodia 30 Himalayas - Nepal 31 Rio de Janeiro - Brazil 32 Masai Mara - Kenya 33 Galapagos Islands - Ecuador 34 Luxor - Egypt 35 Rome 36 San Francisco 37 Barcelona 38 Dubai 39 Singapore 40 La Digue - Seychelles 41 Sri Lanka 42 Bangkok 43 Barbados 44 Iceland 45 Terracotta Army - China 46 Zermatt - Switzerland 47 Angel Falls - Venezuela 48 Abu Simbel - Egypt 49 Bali 50 French Polynesia
So 15 out of 50 is pretty good. I've got about 50 more travelling years on me probably... I've been thinking about going to Alaska for awhile, also Singapore, Bnagkok, and various places in South America. Someday...I should teach my mom how to blog. She's been to most of these places.. She could have a fantastic blog, with a detailed journal of her travels and lots of pictures.. Hmmm...

Don't have much to say today. So far, I've been taking it easy at work. I'm currently working on an experiment that has frequent periods of incubation. Meaning that I have lots of breaks in between where I don't have anything to do. Except maybe check my email once every 5 minutes.

Hmm. I'm really liking this blog server. So many things I can do! I might have to upgrade so I can have images and whatnot on this.
Fantabulous!
So this will be my third attempt at creating a little space for myself on the WWW. Previous attempts were either lame, or I lost interest, or both. Unfortunately, my HTML skills are remedial and the computer class I took in college was aimed towards business majors because the other class was aimed towards engineers and I didn't care much for writing programs that could calculate the torque of this or that.
I figure I might as well work on my own blog if I'm going to be sitting idly in front of the computer at work reloading the various websites I like to read, waiting for someone to update their website. Blah! So I guess I'll just have to see how this endeavor works out. I'm hoping to create a little site of my own with links that interest me, and things that I've read and thought were interesting. I'm not sure why because I'm kind of looking forward (but not really) to the thought of other people reading this site. But I am well aware of the strange desire that I have of exposing my thoughts on the web. Anyways. Feel free to email me with anything. Ideas. (HTML help or suggestions?) Thoughts. Rants. Raves? I'm also working on getting a digital camera because I'd like to start taking pictures of stuff I've been working on. Mainly half finished crafts such as knitting projects, hemp plant hangers, marble magnets, candle making, etc. I'm hoping that if I post these for public viewing and look at them long enough, I'll become embarrassed that my website is filled with unfinished creations and hopefully finish them. I'm trying to outsmart myself, and I don't know how well that's going to go. Anyways. I'm working on it.
